platform: allowing unicode in values and passing

Describe the bug

1. You should not be allowed to give unicode values to any field, but we do
2. this unicode then gets stripped to empty slug which then gets appended with generated postfix
3. this leads to slugs starting with "-" which is not suppose to happen Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.
